East Lyme History Collection and Archives (ELHCA), is a collaboration between the East Lyme Public Library and the East Lyme Historical Society and is housed in the East Lyme Room.
About The Collection
The emphasis of the collection is historical and current information about the town of East Lyme and other local towns. The collections includes books, periodicals, diaries, yearbooks, maps, scrapbooks, ledgers, manuscript, photographs, correspondence, papers, records of local organizations and government, ephemera and more. Subject areas included, but not limited to: business, prominent individuals, events, local families.

The East Lyme Local History Collection and Archives collects and preserves the history of East Lyme, Connecticut through research, programs/events, exhibits, and much more with material from the East Lyme Public Library and the East Lyme Historical Society.

Donations
The ELHCA welcomes donations of historical material to its collection. However, items must fit our collection policy due to the nature of preservation and available space.
Scanning
Help us locate and digitize our East Lyme’s history. If you have historical material relating to East Lyme or southeastern Connecticut and you would like to share with the community while still keeping it in the family. Please consider letting us make a digital copy for the ELHCA for free.
Digital Donation
If you already have a copy of your scanned historical items and would like to add it to our collection, this option is for you. Digital JPG or TIFF files can be transferred to the library through email, flash drive or CD.
The East Lyme Room
The East Lyme Room is located inside of the East Lyme Public Library. The room is open on Mondays (when the Library is open) from 9:00am to 12:00pm or by appointment.
